ConceptStudio Kuusela is a fictional company. I built the site to show what an interior architect’s website can do.

Starting point
Studio Kuusela is a studio of two interior architects in Port Arthur, Turku. It designs homes and summer villas in Southwest Finland and a couple of cafés or shops a year.
The best sites in the field look great but say nothing about what design costs. Finnish consumer sites show prices, but often look like a template. The client wants to know both before booking a consultation.

Solution
The front page opens with one large photo of a sauna building in Nauvo, and right below it says who works at the studio and where it is. The project fact box includes the design fee, and every project has a materials list. The Puolalanmäki apartment has a floor plan that shows removed and new walls. The services and prices page has the full price list, the work phases and the terms. The logo is drawn from EB Garamond letterforms, and every photo has the same warm grade.

What the site does
- Clients arrive knowing the priceThe design fee is shown in every project’s details and in the price list.
- Projects show what design changesA floor plan with removed and new walls and materials lists show the work, not just the result.
- The studio’s people are visible at onceThe front page says straight away who works at the studio and where it is. For someone designing a home, that matters.
Build
- Name, logo, colours and typography
- Design fee in every project’s details
- Floor plan with removed and new walls
- Price list, work phases and terms
On a phone the main image is cropped to portrait around the stove and the window, and on project pages the text comes before the fact box.
